On set for ‘The Dirt’ - Motley Crue in LA 1981.
I may get more later...

A clean and (assumed) running Peugeot 604 - the French W116, not something seen every day on this side of the pond.

Imagine running a company that finds and keeps period cars like these to rent out for movies or whatever. What an amazing life that would be.

I talked briefly with the guy. He says he kinda stumbled on it when the industry came to town a decade ago.
Anyone who’s driven I-10 to the east of New Orleans has seen his place from the highway. It’s quite a sight...

I’ve actually considered seeing about renting out my beaters collection for photo shoots before, but I didn’t think there would be much market

Test the waters. I imagine you need to have insurance for that though.

Maybe? Actually one of the reasons I was thinking “for photos only” because that way I could pick them up and drop them off myself. Don’t want the plebes driving my hunks of junk treasured automobiles.
Part of my fever dream idea was also to offer them “in any color” for a fee. Basically offer to plastidip them for the shoot for a moderate profit.
Ok, I have officially ruined overused the strikeout feature for the week.

Not even remotely viable a bad idea. But, wrapping is going to be a better bet. Plate-Dipping is only good for that Mad Max look.

I’ve only done the one car and it came out pretty well. Likely will do the Alfa in the spring. Last I checked a wrap costs about as much as a good paint job!

Looks good. Wrap and paint prices overlap significantly, but in general, good paint jobs are still more. You don’t need the best though. Good from 10 feet away would probably do.
